What does financial freedom mean to you? Is this a question you have ever pondered?
To me, it means the ability to make choices without having to worry about not having enough money or income to support these choices. For example, choosing to leave a job that I no longer enjoy, reducing my work hours while having capacity to pay the bills, taking extended leave for travel or choosing to live a simpler life as I grow older.
To work out what financial freedom means to you, firstly think about what values hold most importance to you. Write them down and spend 5 minutes writing what you would love to do in your life if money wasn't a limitation. Read what you have written, then ponder the question "what does financial freedom mean to you". What is an achievable version of this? If you imagined living on a tropical island, is it possible to work remotely and live in a tropical location? Can you find a balance between "if I won tattslotto I would" and "with my current situation now, I could find a way to".
The next question I want you to consider is "what does enough look like to me?" Are you working 5 days/week to pay for things you don't even use or value? You may find you can reduce your expenses and reduce your work days.
Set a goal to continue thinking about your version of financial freedom and to make a plan in the next month how you can achieve it!
